Matt Bacak on Building a Large Mailing List
Oct 12th, 2007 by Martin Lee
The session after lunch started with a guy called Steven promoting his mega advertising package. This was followed by Matt Bacak who came on to talk about his powerful lead generation system.
There are four kind of websites Matt uses to generate leads or opt-ins:
- Branding site (one for personal, one for company)
- Sales letter (he likes to have 12-15 “click here to buy” links)
- Blog (www.mattbacak.com) There’s an optin-box on the right.
- Power squeeze page (similar to sales letter but it’s shorter)
Myth: You can only have one website.
Fact: You can have more than one website.
Myth: I need a product or service before I can start building my list.
Fact: You do not need to do so, you just need to find the niche you want to operate in.
If Matt’s business vanished right now, what would he do first?
- Go buy a domain, then buy a hosting account (making sure it’s on a unix server).
- Get an autoresponder. (software you put on your computer, 3rd party service or software you put on your hosting with your own ip)
- Setup a power squeeze page.

You do not wait to build your list. You start building it now.
