Google Adwords Keyword Tool
Jul 11th, 2008 by Martin Lee
Google has recently added a new feature to their keyword tool to help advertisers more accurately plan their adwords campaigns. In the past, they only showed a graph telling us whether the search volume was low, medium or high. Now they provide the approximate figure. The information is reflected in two columns:
Approx Search Volume [Previous Month]: This column shows the approximate number of search queries matching your keywords that were performed on Google and the search network in the previous calendar month. This number is specific to your targeted country and language as well as your selection from the Match Type drop-down menu.
Approx Avg Search Volume: This column shows the approximate average monthly number of search queries matching your keywords that were performed on Google and the search network over a recent 12-month period. This number is specific to your targeted country and language as well as your selection from the Match Type drop-down menu.
For more information, you can refer to the google help files on this topic.
If Google should one day decide to provide a full fledge keyword research tool for free, that might spell the doom for companies currently providing this service.
