Does the Google Cash Method Work?
Feb 11th, 2007 by Martin Lee
In the Google Cash method, you buy traffic from pay per click (PPC) engines and send them directly to the website of the merchant that you are promoting. Does it work?
Yes, it is possible to make a living by relying just sending PPC traffic directly to a merchant’s site. It sounds good in theory, set it up once and just collect the checks every month. But I wouldn’t recommend it as your one and only source.
Why?
There are simply too many things that are beyond your control. For example:
1) Paid search engines changing their rules.
2) Other competitors coming in and out-bidding you on your profitable campaigns.
3) Merchant closing down.
4) And so on.
From personal experience, I had profitable campaigns disappearing overnight because of such factors.
So you really have to monitor closely and always come up with new campaigns. There’s just so much certainly.
A more stable way of doing it is to send the traffic to your own site, get them to opt-in to your list first before sending them to the merchant’s site. In this way, even if the rules change, you still have your list. You will never be put out of business overnight because of external factors beyond your control.
In internet marketing, always remember this phrase: “The money is in the list.” By building your own list, you are ultimately building equity for your business.
Ask any affiliate marketer what their most important asset is and 99% of them will tell you it is their list.
Even if you don’t want to build your own list, you should consider having your own mini-website and send the traffic there before directing it to the merchant’s website. Preselling the prospect before sending them to the merchant’s site tends to increase the conversion.
So, my advice is: If you wish, go ahead and use the Google Cash method to enhance your earnings from affiliate marketing, but do not rely on it as your one and only strategy!
