Demographics Targeting on Google Adwords
Mar 31st, 2008 by Martin Lee
Recently, Google Adwords has added the option for advertisers to be able to do demographics targeting on their content network. How it works is that some content sites have profile information on their users (eg Myspace) . Google can then make use of this information to allow advertisers to target the desired demographics.
Obviously, not all websites on Google Adsense will be able to allow us to target the demographics. But don’t forget some of the bigger sites (that might be delivering more traffic to you) might allow it.
So, the use of this feature can certainly help us to further optimize our Adwords campaign.
To enable this feature, just go to “edit campaigns” for the campaign that you want to choose the demographics. You can target by gender and the age range.
I suggest enabling this feature on all your campaigns that use the content network. One thing that I did was to remove the age range 0-17 from all my campaigns. :)
