Blogrush by John Reese
Sep 16th, 2007 by Martin Lee
John Reese has just launched blogrush, a viral traffic generation tool for blogs. The concept is a simple one adopted from other viral traffic generation networks, and you wonder how come you didn’t think of it first.
How it works is that you earn credits for displaying a syndication of other people’s blog posts on your sidebar. Each credit you earn will enable your site’s blog post to be shown on other blogs once. The posts shown will be targetted as you can specify upfront which category your blog belongs to.
You can also add mutiple blogs on the same blogrush account.
What makes the system extremely viral is that you also earn credits for people you refer to blogrush. Credits can be earned up to ten levels deep.
Referring people is easy as it is done automatically via the blogrush widget on your sidebar.
With such an idea, I won’t be surprised if blogrush hits 50,000 users very soon.

An interesting idea for generating traffic but i would be worried about the perceived recommendation of other blogs.
I think at this stage I will stay my my policy of just recommending the blogs that i think add value to the world.
Hi Paul,
The blogrush widget isn’t exactly a recommendation, but more of a feed of related articles. But they do have a few issues to iron out before it can work well. For one thing, there are many people trying to cheat the system.
