Asia Internet Congress in Singapore
Nov 28th, 2007 by Martin Lee
From today until Friday, the Asia Internet Congress featuring speakers like Fabian Lim, Simon Leong, Jaz Lai, Donna Fox, Nathan Anderson, Sean Roach, Ewen Chia, Jermaine Griggs, Dr Mike Woo-Ming and Joel Christopher will be held in Singapore.
Just yesterday, I had the opportunity to meet up with Joel Christopher at his networking session. I managed to ask him a couple of questions even though I was late for the event. These are some of the key points:
- Most of his traffic comes from free sources. Some of which are his own list, social bookmarking, videos, social networks and articles.
- Joel has a team of people doing social bookmarking for him. One of them will go to socialposter.com to submit to all the networks, and the rest of them will bookmark it over time.
- Submitting a video on its own doesn’t generate much traffic. It is when you interact with other people by commenting, etc that people come to check out your video. It is like a law of attraction.
Anyway, back to the Asia Internet Congress.
The first day is more of a “newbie day” whereby Fabian will teach the internet marketing basics to beginners. I will go down to have a look at the event on the second and third day. If I can access to the internet while I’m there, I will try to provide some coverage of the event.
Stay tuned.
