Adam Ginsberg on Myspace Marketing
Oct 13th, 2007 by Martin Lee
After Jarl Moe’s session, Adam Ginsberg was scheduled for another session. This time round, he would be talking on Myspace marketing. As like the previous session, Mark Anthony came up first to ‘warm’ or presell the crowd.
For the uninitiated, Myspace is a place for people to meet and interact with other people. You can have a blog, emails and receive comments. It has 80 million members in 2005, now it has 205+ million members.
Adam starts by showing us his own myspace page and a few other pages he has created for his clients. This is how it looks like:

It looks really classy unlike normal myspace pages that you see.
Some advice that Adam give us include:
- Do not try to sell to your friends on Myspace. Your aim is to build relationships.
- You don’t have to wait to have a product before creating your myspace page. That page can be created first before you go round sourcing for a suitable product.
Adam then shows us his software that allows us to automatically add friends based on keywords. It also allows us to add comments.
Anyway, the emphasis of this session was really of selling Adam’s package of “customised myspace page” and software. Most of the talk was on why myspace was important and why you should use it. You have to dig in pretty deep to derive the “how”.
